Nicolas Maslowski is a sociologist and a political scientist. Director of the Centre for French Civilisation and Francophone Studies at the University of Warsaw, he is also a former lecturer at Charles University in Prague, where he taught Historical Sociology, and at the University of Economics in Prague, where he taught International Relations and Diplomacy. Former student of Sciences PoParis, he defended his PhD in 2009 at the University of Paris X Nanterre –La Défense. His research interests include Central Europe, communism and post–communism, international relations, the historical sociology of recognition, as well as migration, security in Europe, and collective memory.

Sociologue, politiste. Il est actuellement maître de conférences détaché de l’Université Charles de Prague (Département de sociologie historique). Il enseignait aussi auparavant à l’Université d’économie (Prague) les relations internationales et la diplomatie. Ancien élève de l’IEP de Paris, il a soutenu son doctorat (2009) à l’université de Paris X – La Défense Nanterre. Il travaille sur l’Europe Centrale, le communisme et le post-communisme, les relations internationales ainsi que la sociologie historique de la reconnaissance, récemment sur les migrations, la sécurité en Europe et la memoire collective.
